Since inception at the end of 2009, the Eat Out website has quickly established a strong online presence as Nairobi’s favorite restaurant guide and booking service.  The website, which seats thousands of diners at hundreds of restaurants each month, currently receives over 100,000 monthly page views and has 16,000 registered members on Facebook. The Company recently launched its mobile phone application in Kenya.

The EatOut restaurant guide is a contemporary, functional and unique online portal that seeks to put the Kenya’s dining culture “on the map”. Its aim is to be Nairobi & Kenya’s most comprehensive online restaurant guide featuring the tiniest venue to the talk of the town. Next to the restaurant guide, EatOut introduced its own event this year, the Taste Awards, which has been a great success. EatOut also services all other marketing needs of restaurants, from advertisements in newspapers and other media to production of promotional clips. The Company currently has 6 people on the payroll.

In 2012, Eat Out won the Kenya Tourism Award for Digital Media and the prestigious Vision 2030 ICT Innovation for Tourism.  The company was listed as one of the top 20 African online businesses to look out for by South Africa’s Memeburn Magazine.

Eat Out will be expanding its services to the region in 2012, with the launch of Eat Out Tanzania & Zanzibar, followed by Eat Out Uganda and Rwanda.
